Back in the 1950’s the Chess brothers founded a record label in Chicago which they called ‘Chess Records’ (clever boys, there were) after the night-club they ran burned down. Both at the club and the recording studio there was a whole lot of shaking going on: Muddy Waters, Bo Diddley, Chuck Berry and plenty of other blues greats played and recorded there.
The music had some detractors (it’s too loud, hurts my ears!) but their sound eventually gave rise to Elvis, and continued on to rock-and-roll. Would not want to have dampened those spirits with anti-shaking pads, else we would have no Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Sad!
